  • Do you sell gift cards?
    You betcha! You can purchase gift cards on our website HERE or at the lounge during standard operating hours.
  • Do you provide all the equipment?
    Yes, we supply all materials and equipment including the axes.
  • Can I bring more people than we reserved ahead of time?
    Additional group members can pay on-site but we generally recommend no more than 6 people per lane. With more than 6 on a lane, you may not have as many opportunities to throw as much as you like. That being said, the more the merrier!
  • Can I rent the whole place?
    We designed the lounge to be ideal for venue buyouts. We are ideal for group outings, team-building events, and even fundraisers. Please visit our Groups page for more information on Lounge/Venue Buyout options. Please call or email us for available reservation times, package pricing, and any special requests your group may have. We will do our best to elevate your event/party to legendary status.   • How long does it take?
    From check-in start to standard session you should anticipate approximately 75 minutes. When you are not at your lane, we have a bar/lounge area in addition to a covered patio area.
  • How do I make a reservation?
    Click Here to view our online reservation availability. You can navigate with the calendar function to find a date and time. Our system will guide you through the entire process and preparation.
  • What are your axe-throwing rules?
    The rules and safety guidelines will be explained to you during the orientation speech prior to your event.
  • Can my kids do this?
    Minors 10 years of age and older are allowed to participate provided they can throw the axe in a safe manner and their guardian or parent is present.
  • What if I need to cancel?
    We require a 48 hour notice prior to your scheduled booking for cancellations. If less than 48 hours, our policy is to reschedule you to another available day or time. We can also issue a gift certificate in the amount of your reservation for convenient use at a later date. No refund or gift card will be issued if you do not show up or call for your reservation.
  • Is there an age limit?
    Our lounge age limit is a minimum of 10 years of age All throwers under the age of 18 will be required to have a parent or guardian with them who is legally able to sign their liability release. You must be years of age or 21 or older to drink alcohol in our lounges. You WILL be asked for a valid photo ID, so if you’re not 21 years of age yet, you will not be permitted to drink here.
  • What if we’re late for our reservation?
    In order for us to maintain our reservation schedule, it is important to be on time. There will be a group scheduled in your lane after your session ends. Please plan accordingly, so your time in the lane does not get cut short. We ask that all guests arrive at least 15 minutes before their reservation for a quick safety talk and coaching session.
  • What should I wear?
    We require all participants to wear closed-toed shoes. Our space is large and can get cool and hot depending on the time of year and how busy we are, so dress accordingly. We do not allow high heals. We have a lilited number of loaner shoes in house. This is a physical activity so dress comfortably.
  • How much is it?
    Our prices vary from $28.00 to $52. + taxes per person depending on the day/time/duration of session. Check our pricing here.

  • Can I take pictures or videos?
    Yes you can most certainly take pictures and videos and in fact we encourage it!
  • Do I need a reservation? Can I walk in without a reservation?
    We recommend making advanced reservations HERE. This will allow you to easily plan a fun evening out by guaranteeing a lane for your group. We welcome walk-in customers during our standard operating hours. We also offer 30-minute mini-sessions for walk-in customers only. Availability for mini-sessions is based on reservations/lane availability. Walk-in wait times and mini-sessions will vary depending on the day and time so make sure to check our schedule to see if reservations are available.   • Is there a waitlist?
    We rarely have cancellations. If the online booking day/time you’re aiming for isn’t available, you’re most likely going to need to select another. You are always welcome to pop in or give us a call to test your luck.c
  • Where are you located?
    The A-Town Chop Shop is located in downtown Atascadero, CA at 6250 El Camino Real Ste B adjacent to the Sunken Gardens within the La Plaza Building. Our closest cross street is Entrada Ave.
  • What are your hours?
    Our walk-in and standard reservation hours are Wednesday- Sunday. (Wed & Thurs: 5 pm - 10 pm) (Fridays: 5 pm - 10 pm) (Saturdays: 3 pm to 10 pm) (Sundays: 2-- 7 pm). For large group events: corporate events, holiday parties, and larger birthday/bachelor/bachelorette parties, we can operate outside of our standard business hours.   • Do you have parking at the venue/lounge?
    We have very limited parking onsite at our venue in Atascadero. Ideally, you will need to find parking within walking distance of downtown Atascadero. We recommend carpooling, taking an uber or getting dropped off ahead of time to ensure your whole group can arrive 20 minutes prior to your reservation start time.
  • Do you have Leagues?

  • Can I bring my own axe?
    You can bring your own axe as long is it is WATL or IATL certified. All axes must be inspected by an Axe Whisperer prior to use.
  • Can we bring our own food?
    We offer basic snacks, soft drinks and beer for sale. We partner with local businesses, food trucks etc. We allow food to be brought into the venue. We do NOT allow outside drinks into the venue. Water bottles will be inspected to ensure alcohol is not brought into the venue. We se
  • Do you sell alcohol?
    Yes we sell beer and hard seltzers to customers over the age of 21. We require photo ID. If you arrive at the venue for your reservation intoxicated we will not permit you inside. This is at the discretion of the manager and we have a zero tolerance policy for the safety of our customers.
  • How far in advance should I make a reservation?
    A-Town Chop Shop reservations are on a first come first serve basis. We highly recommend making reservations online several weeks in advance HERE. Weekends are our busiest days and fill up quickly. On occasion, you may find an open slot on the same day, but we recommend booking a reservation at least a couple of days in advance, especially if you have a large group.
